Not suitable for heavy gauge wires
The device cannot handle heavy gauge wires (about 10 or less). The device is designed so that you put the wires on the terminals and the screwing of the plate is used to insert the wires into the terminals (the terminals pierce the wire on the sides). With large diameter wires, the wires push the connectors apart. I had to use a piece of 12 gauge wire to get the device to work and then I had to use a butt joint to connect the 12 gauge wire to the 10 gauge wire.
