First of all, the knife comes in a very pretty box, which in itself would make a great gift. You open the box and the knife looks beautiful to you. I'm a chef, and that's not the word I normally use to describe a knife, but it is. There is a protective case in the box, a good idea as the knife is very sharp, sharper than any bread knife you will ever use. The kit also includes finger guards for added safety. Then comes the performance. I used it to cut my homemade bread, sausage rolls, hot dog rolls, Kayser rolls and cakes. Soft breads like hot dog buns can easily be sliced without crushing them, which is no small feat, while denser artisanal breads can easily be sliced as thin as you like. I've tested it on other products and it's sharp and powerful, it cuts pineapple and swedes with ease which says how good it is.
