Review on πŸ’œ Rapesco P3100 Heavy Duty 3 Hole Punch - Purple, 100-Sheet Capacity (1272) by Kelly Caballes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The cut holes are not exempt from the tailors, but the manufacturer is responsible

Bought less than a year ago. It hasn't been used heavily. Recently stopped punching one of the three holes (only two holes were drilled). I did some research and found that the cutouts don't come loose from the cutters. They are stuck inside in a cement-like mass. I've tried removing them with a rolled up paper clip - absolutely no avail. After trying several other objects to push them out, I found the only tool that worked: a tiny corkscrew on a pocket knife I keep in my desk. I literally had to screw the corkscrew into the front teeth and loosen the notches. Obviously the punch is not designed for such work. I emailed the manufacturer to find out what needs to be done to clear the cutouts. I've considered spraying the inside with WD40 or machine oil, but it looks like it might leave a grease stain on punched documents, and besides, that might not be the solution. I haven't received a reply from them yet. In terms of design, this is a user-friendly theme with easy-to-remove stamps. The stamps come with an easy to remove holder that won't force the springs apart. If the cutouts weren't stuck in the cutter, this would be a wonderful device. But with cutouts clogging any cutter with an almost immobile mass, I can't recommend this. A $150 punch should work well, not just look like it should work well. Thanks for the little corkscrew on my knife. It would be hard to open a bottle of wine with it, but it was just the right size for turning small dots of paper at a time. UPDATE 05/15/19: I have contacted the manufacturer in England. After a little troubleshooting they offered to send a new blade set as they said they have no problems with this product in general. Their US distributor upped this to ship a brand new unit. I am impressed with their customer service and their confidence in their product. I will update this review when a new device arrives. But for now, they've only gone up from 1 to 3 stars for their responsiveness.

Could barely punch 8 pages. If you buy this, buy a small elephant also to sit on it
