I was very disappointed with the poor tailoring and amateur work of the product samples photographed in this book. I expected more from a professional edition. The student projects with jagged stitching and gaudy designs really distracted from the rest of the book. The step-by-step explanations consisted almost entirely of semi-comic illustrations rather than photographs of the individual steps. Whilst the illustrations can be good in a sewing book I found them less clear due to the watercolor which was often dark and obscured important sewing details and it seemed like in some steps there are no illustrations at all (but they were needed). . The book had some patterns on the back but it's not worth buying this book to get them - they were plain and printed on BOTH sides (with different patterns) so you had to copy them before using them. I'm an experienced seamstress and fashion designer just starting out with leather and wanted to have good reference books on my shelf, but this book isn't staying on my shelf - it's about to be given away as a gift. There are much better books out there on making leather bags/accessories - I wouldn't recommend this one. It won't stay on my shelf - it will be sent as a gift.
