The useful life is 1.5 to 2 years.

To be honest my one star rating for installation was due to the fact that most exhaust systems are very difficult to disassemble and reassemble. However, this is a cheap part that wears out after 1.5 years. So if you don't mind doing extra work every two years, then the price couldn't be better.
