I bought this to fit in my hamster carrier (homemade). I wanted something I could attach to a support to hold water and/or water-rich foods like cucumbers or sprouts. This fully meets the requirements! The bar has some grip and the clear lid helps keep litter out of the cup. I have a Chinese hamster and he doesn't seem to have any trouble getting the treats I put in my mug! I've always had trouble figuring out how to serve water or vegetables to my hamster without getting everything in the carrier wet. Because the bowl is so deep and narrow it keeps everything in place and my hamster can easily access the food and water inside. I want to know that my hamster has access to water when he wants or needs it. The only downside is that I can't separate the clear top from the bottom of the mug. This makes cleaning a bit more difficult, but it's probably user error! > Attaches easily and securely to pet carrier (or cage) > Keeps food and water inside and litter outside > Textured perch provides easy access to cup > Easy to remove and reattach cup without removing the entire assembly and having to reattach it. I would buy and probably buy again. I would recommend this to others.
