Server in an Italian restaurant

How it works. Period. Ready. All these foil cutters have one thing in common - brand and mechanics. As long as the blades on the bottom are sharp enough, they work fine. Only when they are blunt or the wine bottles have a very loose foil does the cut feel less smooth. I serve so many bottles of wine at an Italian restaurant and it makes my process SO much faster. Also, I've never been entirely confident cutting foil with a standard wine key in front of guests. There's too much fuss that can go wrong and not look professional. There are just a few things to keep in mind: 1. After you cut the foil, the foil stays in the cutter until you pull it out, so don't forget or wonder why your next bottle won't open or get stuck. And 2. Depending on which restaurant you work at, there may be an issue with the amount you cut with one of those wine foil cutters being just the tip, so you may very well (if you cut the rest of the foil leave). when pouring out) because the serviette can slip over the top of the bottle and touch the foil. And if there's someone out there who's germ-aware or just a snob, that might not be the case. I've tried many foil cutters, most work well, some not very well, but NONE cuts enough, it's always under the first lip of the bottle. At least it does a great job of removing all the foil.
