Sasaki 5236118 Takumi The AUS-10 Utlilty 5 1/2" stainless steel Japanese knife with locking sheath is a work of art. If you are familiar with Damascus steel, you know its beauty and strength. Damascus steel is made up of several types of Steel and iron plates are made which are welded together into a blank which is then drawn and folded to give the blade its unique look.There are many fake damascus knives out there and some of them are so good it's hard to tell if they are real or not. Sasaki 5236118 looks like real Damascus steel as far as I can tell. created today. It is a nice blade, sharp and well finished. Cuts very well and looks like it will stay sharp for a while. The handle is exquisite and everything about the knife is of the highest quality This is a work of art I do not say this lightly this is a knife you will come across lz going to have it in your block. And you don't have to keep it in a knife block if you don't want to because it's made from a very smart plastic. a sheath with a button you press that aligns the groove for safe knife removal. This is a nice feature as you don't want a knife this sharp just jumping out of your hand. My iPhone photos don't capture this properly. This is a beautiful knife. It's not cheap, but you don't buy a knife like a bargain hunter. You are looking for a knife of a certain quality and style. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a nice real Damascus steel knife for their kitchen. I would not recommend this knife to the casual cook. I also recommend this knife as a great gift for those who are serious about cooking. I think they would be very impressed and happy to receive a knife of this quality as a gift.
