This TP-Link PoE splitter works well with this adapter: http://amzn.to/ 2r1WZoV. This combination is great for powering Raspberry Pi or Pine64 boards. I used it with this fanless PoE+ switch: http://amzn.to/2qDtOYo. This trio is a great combination for a lab wanting to avoid the guessing game of whether micro PCs will get the performance they need. This splitter is cheaper than many others but has a maximum output of 15.4W (<10W recommended). A standard Rpi 3 consumes around 2300mW and I was able to boot with this device and get 5000mW from the PoE switch (I could probably set up more but haven't tried it yet). I like that the device has a switch for several different voltages. The barrel adapter output is a common standard, so you can find many adapters for different devices if you need to connect something else.
