In general, I liked the panel. It was the first one I had so I don't have much like it. Some complain about the stiffness of the springs, but I liked it and would have preferred it that way rather than being too flexible. They felt stiff enough to flex easily without becoming brittle or breaking, and held the shank firmly against the intended stop. What I didn't like was the lack of smoothness when moving from one spot to another on an incline or adjusting the depth. A straight line combined with a curved S-line was good in theory, but when two boards to be cut are stacked on top of each other, adjusting with longer bolts will result in the entire block getting stuck in the path, forcing the user to stop and crush a piece. It definitely requires special attention and both hands to get it in place. In my opinion, for this tool to be effective, one-handed operation should be paramount, or at least easy to set up while the other hand is on the stock or a stop adjustment or something. I think better design and hardware would have eliminated this, but I found it more annoying than enjoyable to use. Anything related to security must be easy to use, otherwise the user will not use it. However, for lack of a better option, I might have kept and used it if it wasn't for my saw. The problem isn't so much with the design of this other board as with the design of my saw, as the folding angle rails on the spring boards are actually well designed, with aggressive grooves or petina on the sides to provide traction. Unfortunately, I believe my Dewalt DWE7480 saw has an aluminum plastic core table (so I couldn't use a board with a magnetic pin). The result of routing the corner slots of my table is that there is very little rounding at the bottom of the slot and they are not perfectly square. In fact, they are probably sidewalks at an angle of 91°-92° from the horizontal bottom of the slot. While I didn't think 1°-2° would make a difference, it means that only the lowest part of the adjustable flared slot adapter really grabs a few more boards. Preferably 2mm. This causes it to pop out when pressed moderately. That's not the kind of reliability I'd want in the middle of a cut from a safety device that's essential to my cutting operation. Again, this is more of a downside to Dewalt saw table routing, but something to consider for Dewalt saw owners considering buying, which could be a lot since we can't use magnetic boards. I gave 3 stars instead of 5. I deducted one star for the binding, pinching and twisting when adjusting when using both boards stacked on top of each other and one star for the suboptimal grip in the corner groove, which is suboptimal square. Unfortunately I will send it back. I really wanted it to work.
