Review on ๐ŸŒ Enhanced GPS Accuracy with GlobalSat ND-105C Micro USB GPS Receiver by Robert Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works with Android as long as .

first install the Play Stores 1) "Prolific PL2303 USB-Uart" App and 2) search the "USB GPS" App Store. I then restarted the device and plugged it back in with the included standard size USB to micro USB cable and a popup asks which program you want to use for this and you select the app. To avoid hassles, select "Use once" when you know the device is working. I also went into the android developer options in the settings (google if you don't know how to see that option it doesn't exist by default) and selected "Simulate" locations and the app should appear as the one I want If it's connected, select it. If it doesn't show up, find and install an app that does. This "dummy" location is intended to be tested by developers without GPS so they can simulate locations for software testing, but can also be used to redirect the output of those devices there, making it a real dummy location and Android for Tempted to use external GPS, not internal. When this is done it may not seem to work as many GPS applications ignore incorrect locations and show 0 available satellites. never mind I went to google maps and asked him to find my location and he did it within 30 minutes using this device. Make sure this device is in use by unplugging it and it should lose you. If you still see them, you may need to force stop them or clear your old GPS cache. I haven't had this problem. They will also want you to install a terminal program called "Serial Terminal for PL2303HDX" to confirm that data is being read. I used another one on the play store, didn't see it right away. I've also noticed that the normal GPS program applications don't see this unit's satellites as they appear to be configured for internal GPS only, so don't despair, keep checking, it might still work.

Pros
  • Android device must support USB Host and PL2303 GPSInfo app for Android to work. OS Compatibility: Android 3.2 ~ 6.0+; Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10; Mac OS X 10.4 ~ 10.11+; Linux kernel 2.4.31+.
Cons
