The timer will beep for a full minute when the countdown ends. I could hear it very clearly when the timer was upstairs in the bedroom and I was downstairs at the other end of the house. My husband couldn't hear him when he was in the next room. Unless you manually turn off the timer, it will beep twice every 30 seconds, apparently until the battery dies. I let it do a 2 beep reminder for 30 minutes and it showed no signs of ever turning off. Here's the problem with this timer for me - you can set it to only count full minutes instead of seconds. You can set it to 14 minutes but not 14 minutes 45 seconds. The lack of a seconds countdown feature is a headache and can render this timer useless in some situations. By choosing this timer, I have learned to pay close attention to product descriptions. The company that sells this timer never says it will count seconds. I expected that, I was wrong.
