Two thumbs up on bungee cords
I use one of these to keep the kayak cart in place while paddling. Anything can happen to my kayak and the trolley stays exactly where I tied it. I also used this as a bungee for my water tank. Nobody wants to lose water on the first mile of a day-long adventure. I know their strength far exceeds what is required for these purposes, but I chose to overdo it when it came to protecting my gear.
