Review on Dorman 265-818 Transmission Oil Pan: Ideal Fit for Specific Models by John Invert

First I want to get a 1 star address. Basically I installed this on a Tuesday and let the RTV dry overnight. I filled the transmission to a cold level and began heating the fluid to ensure there were no leaks through the RTV seal. To my surprise, however, the drain plug on my transmission pan was leaking. That's the reason for my 1 star, now I need to drain the pan and fix the leaky plug. 3 stars for value for money - because the pan was good for its purpose. It serves its purpose and looks well made. 5 stars for ease of installation were given because the holes for the 10mm screws that attach the pan to the bottom of the transmission line are on top and "seal" the pans around the edges. deformed or otherwise deformed. However, I would like to point out that while the part itself installed as intended and easily, that doesn't mean that effectively removing and accessing the position of the pots was easy with the JK Wranglers design. I ended up supporting the differential with a jack to support the transmission so I could remove the cross member and transmission mounts to gain access. So I will not be returning the sump, I will have to drain the sump and repair or replace the plug.
