Great Sump Leaky Plug

This sump is built for heavy use and comes with a drain plug that will leak even with the included washer. Do yourself a favor and buy a softer washer. I bought metal ones with rubber in the middle, they were from O Reillys or Napa. leak fixed.

Perfect replacement

I had to give up the transmission pan for a 60,000 fluid and filter change on a 2010 JK Wrangler. Found the pan to be rusting and replaced it with this one. The pan fits perfectly and I have no leaks after using red Permatex sealer. The pan is heavy, not flimsy and not cheap. The extra drain plug is a nice bonus that came already screwed in with the washer. I've made some corrections and will update my review if there are any issues.

Bigger than the original

This was perfect to replace my OEM transmission pan. As long as you have deactivated the original panorama, you can also change the transmission filter at the same time. The filter set I received came with a pan gasket so no additional sealant was required. I took the advice of others and got a Dorman 69001 nylon drain-to-drain gasket and then screwed the drain plug the same way I did the engine oil plug. I haven't had any leaks. This skillet appears to be larger than the original skillet at…

The drain plug is leaking!

I read all the reviews before buying. Some have claimed that the drain plug is leaking. I definitely checked the torque and connector seal. I even filled the pan before installing it and let it sit for two days to make sure the cork didn't leak. Well, after about a week and 50km of driving, I notice a huge puddle under the jeep. The plug does not leak well. Now I'm out of $50 for Mopar gear oil and whatever it takes to put in a properly sealed drain plug. My advice is to buy a genuine Mopar…

The perfect replacement bowl, Liberty KK 42RLE

The perfect replacement for the Liberty KK 42RLE. I also love that it has a check/drain plug as the original car didn't have one. The original skillet was rusty and starting to leak. As far as I can tell this pan is of good quality, with thick metal and a nice finish. The kit does not include a magnet for catching small metal particles that may float in your transmission oil; I only noticed this AFTER installing a new pan.d'o! It's a bit odd that this was left out as the Dorman differential…

Fits exactly like OEM

The look, feel and weight of my 2007 Wrangler are VERY close to OEM. I used a Felpro pad with lots of Permatex High Tack but the pan is solid, no leaks, the drain plug works great. 1 important point posted here as a reminder. When installing this pan. REMOVE THE DAMN MAGNET FROM THE OLD PALLET AND INSERT IT INTO THIS. I don't and the pan is so strong I really don't want to take it off. I'm going to call Dorman this week and see if they have a drain plug for this pan that is magnetic and/or get…

Thick and heavy, best pan for 42RLE

This pan is an improvement over the standard pan. It is thicker and heavier, and the flange area is strong. The bearing shell has been overstretched and deformed around the bolt holes. Also, it was rusty. The Dorman pan is definitely an improvement. I've used it with a lube lock gasket and so far so good. There was no protruding indentation for the magnet (mine was shaped like a big O). I think I could use a smaller magnet to fit in the recess where the bulge was on my OEM pan. Okay, I have no…

Great transmission pan, bad drain plug washer!

Excellent transmission pan, with only one downside - brass drain plug washer. Dorman doesn't list a specific torque for the drain plug, so I started with a starting torque of 15 ft/lbs and experienced cracking of the drain plug. Within a week I increased the torque by 5 ft/lb and then sprayed brake fluid on the plug until it was 30 ft/lb at which point it was still weeping. I didn't dare tighten it any further for fear of tearing the welds or stripping the threads. So the solution is if you buy

Plug in Transmissions & Parts Leak

First I want to get a 1 star address. Basically I installed this on a Tuesday and let the RTV dry overnight. I filled the transmission to a cold level and began heating the fluid to ensure there were no leaks through the RTV seal. To my surprise, however, the drain plug on my transmission pan was leaking. That's the reason for my 1 star, now I need to drain the pan and fix the leaky plug. 3 stars for value for money - because the pan was good for its purpose. It serves its purpose and looks…
