Whenever tech companies insist on hype, products require more effort than they're worth. Started with a wonderful smaller version when they first came out many years ago. Through no fault of Garmin, if you spill enough liquid on computerized equipment, it will eventually die. That led me to this model, since the little one was discontinued. I'm out and about in a van all day calling for service so I need something compact that isn't in this one compared to the original. Oddly the same size is now pocket sized and three times the price of the smaller one they discontinued? This one died after a few years for no reason, didn't last as long as the first smaller model. Now I go to the store to get another one as I need it fast and find that you have to buy one with things that people like me don't need or want. I looked here and found this discontinued model that just passed away. I've always been happy with the Garmin over the TomTom, although it's too big and takes up a lot of space as I don't mount it on my dash for many good reasons. Sometimes it's inaccurate and won't find new areas, but I assume this could happen to any of them once new areas become available. I wish I knew this does NOT include a USB charger as I have over 190 addresses to enter. Took me on a crazy hunt around town and it's nowhere to be found so I had to order a USB cable from here this morning instead of downloading new maps and typing in addresses that won't be delivered until Monday so I have no idea how to do it will enter all this by tuesday. My biggest complaint about Garmin is their website. I tried downloading it before realizing I needed a USB card cable. Your site is a fiasco, looks great, lots of hype, but no browser will work. Apparently you now need to download something called Garmin Express before you can download the map. Okay, but whether Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, it always said that this browser is no longer supported. Now that I'm not very knowledgeable about such things, I find it hard to believe because I can download anything from any other website. I then try to contact customer service, which seems like an oxymoron, but to no avail for over an hour on all three browsers. Hey Garmin, most of your page won't load! Forbidden server error, the site did not find any errors, waited for this morning, finally got a support number, but of course they are closed on the weekend. The good news is that all the hype on the site works and looks beautiful. The only way to get the pages to load and not go round in circles was to use my phone to make it clear that they don't care about people still doing business with a laptop. , went back to the desktop and yesterday I didn't come across permissions permissions when they give you instructions on how to add them to your trusted sites. Do that, but no, you still get a message that you need to add us to your trusted sites to download Garmin Express. No matter what I do, I get the same error. When that USB arrives on Monday I still doubt I'll be able to update the map or use this thing as I've wasted 2.5 hours of my life in two days. so that their website communicates with my desktop. There is no high hope here. Good news, the only good news is that when you can actually use the suction cup, for the most part it works great and doesn't always tell you ahead of time to turn around, but other brands have the same problem. I can see where all these GPS's are causing a problem when you're unfamiliar with the area, and sometimes I'll miss a turn, but at least it will tell you where to turn next. Garmin, you are having some real issues with the website. Many companies like mine use laptops for most of our business.
