I love the bowls and am finally moving the plastic bowls to the servants' quarters. (JOKE!) I removed the plastic bowls. They have a slight [edit"nice"] shape with an inside-out rim, but when I tried to put something in a spoon, I had a hard time as the top rim of the bowl in a convex curve, and offers less and less help to scoop something up with the spoon as I pull the spoon up. Older plastic bowls had a steeper side that didn't roll down to the rim, they had a slightly concave curve that transitioned sharply into a flat rim. I think it depends what you get used to. The second thing I noticed is that these bowls transfer heat quickly when they're glass or ceramic, so hot soup means hot bowl. Yes, plastic is generally considered cheap, but it was an excellent thermal insulator compared to this Corelle. Again, I think it's about what you're used to. It looks like plastic bowls are being devalued and used for camping. They're a bit smaller than the plastic bowls I've had so I like them portion wise. And they are attractive.
