I had up to 3 projects in there at once. There's plenty of room for a thick scarf or afghan fabric and plenty of room for smaller or lighter projects. I had a very bulky scarf, a hat, samples in progress and another small project safely stowed away. All without padding. there. For travelling. Suitable for car trips. A little big for air travel. I like the many outer pockets. For the first time I have all my needles, hooks and concepts in one convenient unmarked pouch. Personally, I like being able to hide the contents of the bag (gifts) and prevent my cat dog from getting into things. I love the clear vinyl sleeve that zips in the clear lid. It's very easy to keep track of the buttons you bought for your project and the correct DPNS size you need when you reach this point in your current project. Keeps the yarn clean, easy to carry around when group knitting and I mentioned it's dog safe.
