Needed. A shower wand that had a on-off switch and also one that would spray from the end instead of the face. This was one of the few that I found that did both. We use our wand to wash our dogs in our shower. We really don't use the shower wand for ourselves. It is a pain to have to turn the water on and off with the previous one. This one turns off with the flick of a switch. And I like that it can shoot from the end of it. But we do use the regular shower wand to rinse underneath our dogs. The spray out the end of the Sharon works great for the top and sides of our dogs. It has pretty darn good pressure and I may have to go to the hose that came with it because the longer hose that I bought doesn't really fit in the holder that I have. If you're interested in the shower, one holder that I have which I really like. Just search for a shower head holder 304 no drilling adjustable shower bracket. Hope this helps somebody.
