Review on YAMAHA MusicCast 20, 40 W Portable Acoustics - Black by Barbara GM ᠌

After buying a musiccast 400 soundbar (see my review about it), I wanted to unleash its full potential. For a long time I waited for a more or less adequate price for 2022, because it makes no sense to order from Europe - when sending the same to the same, it comes out. Bought as a result for 14,000 pieces. Immediately connected to the bathroom with the courier. And then it started. every week one of the rear speakers fell off the soundbar, causing the rear surround to be lost. A dreary setup with holding down the power button and running around from one end of the room to the other (if both rear speakers were not visible on the network). Then constant errors in pairing with the home network (a life hack - the problems go away if the geolocation is turned on on the phone - why Yamaha needs it, I still don’t understand). Then there are problems with the signal supply to the rear from the soundbar (periodically you have to run a test of the speakers so that the rear sound goes to them). I was very upset, as were the mass of Western users who covered the Yamaha with the last words. And, suddenly, about a miracle! The latest firmware has almost completely removed all the problems! The manufacturer has become stupid, as they say, years later ! after product release. (But I still had to do a full reset of one of the speakers - Yamaha is not very strong in programming network interfaces;)) Now for the sound itself - by themselves they give out a fairly clear sound, but you should not expect anything outstanding, just a good sound for this size, however, at a greatly overpriced price, so I would not recommend this speaker by itself. But as the rear speakers are quite good. Moreover, as I wrote in the soundbar review, DTS Virtual:X does not always improve surround on films where the sound is already recorded in this format. It's best on movies with talking, because it broadens the stereo image and brings the center channel with dialogue to the fore. In general, I am satisfied, but only as rear speakers, as independent speakers - there are options that are both cheaper and better at the same time.
