Downgraded from 5 stars to 3 stars. At first everything was fine, then some ports began to turn off, in order for them to work again, an operating system restart is required. As far as I can tell disabling ports is power related. This card doesn't do a good job of powering or charging devices. I've resorted to a powered USB hub that the connectors keep dropping out of, but they're still pretty fragile and sometimes go dead, which is very annoying. I recommend a USB controller card with an internal power connector so it can properly power devices when needed without crashing. Newer Highpoint models offer cards with an internal power connector. One of the great things about this card is that it's one of the few that offers a dedicated controller for each USB port, which is essential when you need maximum speed and bandwidth.
