I love folk coloring with crayons. Haven't used any other brand but this one seems good. That's why I was so excited about the polish. I mixed my colors and got the most beautiful color which I was very happy with. Painted and sanded in 3 layers. Was so pleased with my smooth flawless finish. I don't normally get such a smooth and flawless surface. I applied HomeDecor FolkArt varnish. It didn't smell. The smell was actually pleasant. Easy to use and clean. I applied 2 layers. went to glory. So far, so good. There are still a few bands, but I could live with that. It looked beautiful. It seemed cute. He was happy with his work. The next day. There were brown spots in many places. On closer inspection, the paint was swollen! Pooh! I sanded again to remove the peeling paint and all of the detail. Now I have a non-smooth surface. The paint has peeled off in several places down to the original wood. I didn't have time to paint until the next day. But wait until I'm ready to paint more brown patches with contrasting color. So back to polishing. Now I have to repaint and varnish again (with a different product, of course). I've wasted so much time I can't sand off all the paint so I have jagged spots where the paint has peeled off on wood. Save yourself some time and don't use this ridiculously nasty product. This is just awful! Listen to bad reviews. I don't see any good reviews for this product that are true or accurate. When you see this product. RUN in the opposite direction!
