There has to be a language thing when they say 'fits' they really mean 'doesn't fit'. I got it working, but mostly because I didn't want to deal with sending it back. Image quality is good, not great, but good enough for a rear camera. First of all, don't try to measure your lens cap to determine which 57.5 or 59 you have. With a spring it was too tight, instead measure the inside size of the notch it goes in the longer it is. It's much more accurate. The width is too narrow. There will be a gap that you will have to deal with. It needs to be 5 or 6mm wider to fill the area. The clips that grip and hold the camera mount in the car are too narrow, they don't slide or grip. I had to carefully, very carefully, cut them with a small grinding wheel. The most important thing is that the place in the body where the device is inserted has an inclined shape and narrows downwards. The part of the camera and light set that fits in the car is square. I had to cut most of the clear plastic bracket off, including some mounting clips, to allow it to sit in that sloping area. My experience was with E46, M3 coupe 2002. I know many E46 models have different features so your mileage may vary.
