Review on Enhanced Wireless Motion Detector Driveway Alarm System - DCMA-4000: DCMT-4000 Infrared Transmitter and DCR-4000 Receiver by Tim Burns

Was glad to find a product from a reputable company that showed potential at 1 mile transmission distance. What a disappointment! Items appear to be of decent build quality. The tones are a bit dated in this digital age. Easy to install. Too bad it didn't reach 1200 feet in immediate line of sight. The receiver is in a building with a metal pole, but I really didn't expect to lose more than 3/4 of the transmission range. Put the receiver on the window sill tomorrow and try again at your preferred location (1200 feet). Unfortunately, if this does not help, he returns. An option for an external antenna on the receiver would be a nice feature. Some better tones will help too. We'll see tomorrow if it stays or goes away. I will update this review when I can.
