Satisfied with Dakota Alarm

The alarm came as promised. The only tricky part was removing the back of the transmitter because the 4 screws required a #1 Phillips screwdriver, which we didn't have. I haven't changed any settings inside (filter, range or LED). 9V battery which is not included. I used a swivel mount on the outside of the house. It was very easy for the recipient to set up a melody. There were about 8 or 10 tunes to choose from. The volume is also turned off. Just keep pressing the button. The alarm picked up

  • TRANSMITS AND RECEIVES SIGNALS UP TO 1 MILE — When you need to monitor a large area, the DCMA-4000 is a great solution. Both transmitter and receiver pick up alarms up to 1 mile away.

Does not transmit 1200 feet in line of sight

Was glad to find a product from a reputable company that showed potential at 1 mile transmission distance. What a disappointment! Items appear to be of decent build quality. The tones are a bit dated in this digital age. Easy to install. Too bad it didn't reach 1200 feet in immediate line of sight. The receiver is in a building with a metal pole, but I really didn't expect to lose more than 3/4 of the transmission range. Put the receiver on the window sill tomorrow and try again at your…

Quick install with peace of mind.

Installation and instructions were fairly easy. I originally bought this as an added security measure because I've had a car predator snag on my Arlo a couple of times but wasn't aware they were around. The most shocking time was when we were watching TV around 6:30pm and it was dark outside. As for the other cars parked in our driveway, I had no idea until a neighbor stopped and said he chased the man away. My driveway and gravel area is about 30 feet wide and with the monitor set to a 50 foot
