I had a little suspicion that it was made abroad but needed it as a last resort and decided to give it a try. The first test was to mark the Jacobs cone with a marker and check for contact. Clean the contact along the entire length of the cone in a Jacobs brand chuck (+1). Then insert it into the Bridgeport spindle and test it for concentricity using InterAid's tenth test. Less than 0.0002 indicates runout at the end and anywhere along the cone (+2). It appears to be legitimate material, more could have been spent, but I see no downside to it at the moment.
