I've decided that for a winter project I'll be converting my CDs to MP3s in a more organized way. I had a DVD/CD burner over 10 years ago that seemed to work fine, but suddenly it stopped recognizing some CDs, especially the ones I recently copied. I think it was an old optical drive so I took the plunge and bought a new one. I use it with my 2017 MacBook Pro 13 inch with the latest operating system. All I can say is that it works perfectly and every CD is recognized. My only criticism is trivial, and the cable from the floppy drive to the USB hub is a bit shorter than I was hoping. After ripping over 50 CDs everything is going great. The drive is more streamlined than the old one and significantly lighter. Actually, the old optical drive needed an external power supply, but this one didn't. I am currently using a drive as I write this review. Almost no complaints, highly recommended.
