I am a retired chef but I still cook and host dinner parties, BBQs 5-6 times a week and some volunteer projects. I'm always looking for quality tools to make my craft easier and so far this is one of them. As many of you know, there is a chemical in shredded cheese that keeps it from clumping or sticking together, which is why I only buy block cheese. and grind my own as needed. Remember for those of you with HBP or heart disease, this chemical can adversely affect you. This is a really good quality slicer and although I haven't owned it that long I have made thousands of cuts on Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Swiss, Gouda, Parmesan, Mozzarella, Gruyere, SarVecchio etc. I highly recommend this product and this company!
