Works well with kids in the car

Even though my SUV has a built in DVD player, four kids don't always want to watch the same movie. So I decided to buy some of these portable players. That worked great for us. I bought the Sony version instead of some of the cheaper other versions because I was put off by some reviews on these other products saying they broke quickly. Our Sony versions have been working great for a few years now. They are quite thick and strong, which seems to make them more durable. In addition, Sony has a good reputation. Another thing I love about this product is that you can power it by plugging it into the car outlet (the old "cigarette lighter") or just run it offline. It has an internal battery that lasts a long time. for probably a couple of movies before you need to plug it in to charge. You can still watch movies while charging. There are also two headphone slots, so two kids can connect to a portable DVD player at the same time. It also comes with an AC adapter that plugs into an outlet in your home. I also bought them cheap headphones which worked great. All in all they did a great job for us. I'm sure there are probably some more technologically advanced portable DVD players out there, but this one is inexpensive, durable, and good for kids on the go.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No vending machine
