That's a great idea, my own isolated growler that also carbonates beer. Several local pubs sell growlers with good local beer. They liked finishing this growler, so the opening should be pretty standard. I can buy food grade CO2 cartridges for a few bucks at nearby hardware stores and large stores, and the cheapest is at a homebrew store. It was easy for me to continue using the unfinished CO2 cartridge one more time by closing the regulator. "Food grade" means non-toxic and also tested for purity. It was pretty easy to make room in my fridge for this 64-ounce growler, even though you need 1.5 feet of space. So the beer stayed cool for hours during a late summer party outside. It can also heat liquids, but what for? Water? Tea? Coffee? I guess so. It was easy to flush. The hose is enough to leave half for a replacement and a spare silicone hose is easy to find at the hardware store if I don't want to clean it out.
