My washer and dryer are in the back room. If the door is open you can hear them. I removed the covers from the front of both panels and attached a strip down the center of each panel. I'm guessing 10 x 20 inches. I am very satisfied with the results, no the combo is not quiet but I measured about 2 dB quieter and deeper sound. That's bearable for me. I also drew the top of the heat pump's water heater cover. This is 5th Gen Rheem and the supercharger is audible. I taped a 10" strip around it except where the fan was and a 6x10" strip over it. This is bearable again. Don't think it will silence anything, but it will muffle it a bit and make it look lower. The product itself is ok. Very sticky. Feels thick and heavy.
