Great sounding Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) headphones

These Anker Life A2 Soundcore headphones sound really, really good. The bass is full and punchy, the mids are clear and the highs are brilliant but not harsh. In terms of active noise cancellation, the Soundcore app (free download) offers three levels of noise cancellation: in traffic, indoors, and outdoors. Transport mode is designed for when you are in a car or plane; Indoor mode reduces mid-frequency noise in public areas such as cafes; Outdoor mode reduces ambient noise when walking on city streets etc. All three modes work very well. Not as good as hundreds of dollar earbuds or headphones but remarkably good at this price point. The Soundcore app also comes with 22 equalizer presets that you can use to customize the sound to your liking. If none of the presets suit you, you can create your own equalizer using the 8-band equalizer feature included in the app. It's very comfortable and works great. These headphones sit securely in your ears while still being comfortable. The kit includes ear tips of different sizes so that you can adjust them well to the size of your ears. The touch controls on these headphones are a bit limited compared to other wireless headphones, but the controls can be customized. They only respond to double tapping left and right and holding left and right for 2 seconds. I set up the controls like this: double-tap L to skip to the next song; double tap R pauses or plays; hold 2 seconds L decreases the volume; Hold R for 2 seconds to increase volume. The touch and hold functions work well. Battery life seems pretty good. Soundcore claims 6 hours of battery life with noise canceling on, but I haven't had a chance to verify that claim. But I wear them for several hours with no problems. They also claim that by putting the earbuds back into the case (which has a built-in rechargeable battery) you can get up to 36 hours of battery life. I noticed that the case holds a charge very well. I've used the headphones many times, listening for at least an hour or two each time, then putting them back in the case. The case still shows three charge LEDs, the highest charge level, and I didn't plug it in. So the 35-hour statement may well be correct. I also have a pair of Tozo NC9 ANC headphones which are great too. The Tozo NC9 are about $20 cheaper than these Soundcore headphones, and they sound almost as good. I would give Soundcores the edge in sound quality. In addition, the possibility Adjusting the Soundcores equalizer is a big plus. ANC sound cores are also slightly better. Not drastically better, but significantly better. The battery life of the Tozo NC9 is disappointing. Sound cores offer much better battery life. For the money I think the Soundcore Life A2s would be hard to beat. Highly recommended! and they sound almost as good. I would give Soundcores the edge in sound quality.
