Review on πŸ”§ Original Engine Management 80012 Oil Pressure Switch: Reliable and High-Quality Performance by Masud Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Used on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The original oil pressure sensor (transmission assembly) failed. My oil gauge intermittently showed no oil pressure and encoded my engine light. The engine wasn't knocking, so I suspect a faulty ECU. I'm posting this review 1 week after installation so it doesn't reflect the longevity of the product. FYI: To remove the electrical connector, you need to slide the locking tab aside. On my Jeep, the connector had a red button running side to side. Who knows if it was consistent throughout production. It's not easy to see this on an engine, especially when it's covered in oil and dirt. Knowing this saves you the hassle of trying to unplug the electrical connector. This work can be done by one person. The only special tool I needed was a 1 1/16" deep tool. The auto shop sells them for about $14. Usually they are designed just for this job and can be different sizes.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost never
