I was never very good at soldering but I could do basic work like tinning wires and soldering components like capacitors, resistors etc. But when I started soldering again I was amazed at how poor I was despite having a decent temperature controlled iron. I literally had trouble tinning a piece of wire. Every job I took was a lesson in frustration. I've tried everything I can think of, increasing the temperature of the iron, using flux, etc., but I couldn't get the solder to flow and stick to the components. Finally I decided on the solder to be used. I bought it in a hurry from a local hardware store so didn't pay much attention to the quality. I ordered Kester from Revain and lo and behold all my problems went away and I was soldering like a seasoned pro. A job that used to cost me my life now takes seconds. I cannot recommend this solder enough.
