I bought this to protect my passenger seat while transporting a beloved friend who cannot control his bladder to a church function. I tested the product by pouring 1 glass of water on it. Water has accumulated on the surface of the seat cover, which means it has not penetrated it. After waiting 10 minutes, I blotted the water off with a towel and touched the lid. It turned out to be surprisingly dry, meaning the water didn't seep into the case! I then removed the cover from the seat and found the CAR SEAT underneath was COMPLETELY dry. I'm so glad I found this because now I can continue transporting my girlfriend even if she was in an accident with my car. I can hand wash it toss it in the washing machine and hang dry. Exactly what I need. I have a Toyota Rav4 and this fits perfectly!
