Review on Genie GM3T-R Intellicode 9/12 Dipswitch Garage Door Opener Remote (2 Pack) - Compatible With Openers Since 1993 by Everald Mendez

I've had a Genie opener on my garage for 15+ year, love it. Can open the door when I'm half way down the street and drive right in. I built a new detached garage, and didn't even hesitate ordered and put in a Genie (these are screw drives). I was terribly disappointed, you had to be 10 feet from the door to open it. I came with 2 of these little "key chain" remotes. Genie customer service is right up there in the top 10 worst. Finally, I bought the GM3T-R Master. WOW! works just like my old remotes and I can use it on the old and new door (Series I and Series II). Worked so well, I bought a second one, and now I only have to have one remote on my sun visor for both garages. The "little 3 button" remotes will not work with your old door, and the range on them is about that of a "cheap TV remote" ( I guess that's why they come with the door). Get the GM3T-R (buy from Best Buy), you'll be very happy!UPDATE: unit will work with new and older door openers. However: contrary to the product sheet you can only do one remote for the series 1 door. Even if you use a different button on the 2nd remote, the door will only recognize the remote you program last. Still have to use old remote on second vehicle.
