With the era of full-fledged SSDs fast approaching and becoming the norm, this adapter offers the owner an M.2 NVMe type SSD chewing gum to convert this SSD in a typical 2.5 -inch hard drive bay to take full advantage. Even though the SSD will only communicate at SATA II speeds (because it's not connected to a direct PCIe interface), it will still be a very fast little devil and will never add latency to the SATA II interface. This is a very good use for an older M.2 SSD you might have on hand, and it's good to recycle that storage potential. Try it, you will like it! Enjoy
