Update 1: Due to the short cord I had to use a surge protector to connect this heater. I will say that although the heater only works for a few days, it works well and maintains a fairly accurate temperature in my 150 gallon aquarium. First review: I just received it. My rating does not yet refer to the quality of the item. However, I give 2 stars for the terrible design. It seems cheap and I have a serious issue with the length of the cord. This is a 500w heater, so it's obviously intended for larger tanks. The cable is just over 5 meters long. It doesn't even reach my exit from the top of the tank. I have to put it in a non-ideal place to be able to plug it in. It's just idiotic to attach such a short cable to a heater for a large tank. I'm thinking of returning it. I'll see how it works now and update my review accordingly. However, I don't think it will ever get more than a few stars due to the EXTREMELY short line.
