Review on πŸ”’ Convenient and Secure HAIFUAN Digital Door Lock: Unlock with Remote Control, M1 Card, Code, and Key, Reversible Handle Direction by Sam Anez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty much everything on a T, but small issues (and a missing piece) prevent it from being the perfect door lock (EDIT).

Really good lock I have to admit. It looks modern, has many functions and ways to open the door. It has unique keys and a mechanical lock system that is much harder to pick than standard locks. You know all these details if you really are their information side. On the other hand, it is difficult to determine. A little more complicated than a normal door lock. You need to modify your door for this lock to work with it. I had to borrow a drill to make holes for all this wire and stuff. I knew this was happening, but it should be noted. Another thing is that the lock is sticky, if that makes sense. 1 in 5 times when you let go of the handle it will not automatically return to its default position and you will need to reset it manually. It's not a big deal, but if you forget to return the handle to the horizontal position, the door stays open because the latch doesn't pop back out, so all that extra security is wasted. I tried loosening, tightening the screws in several places, fumbling for half an hour, but I couldn't get rid of the stickiness, I just minimized it. The keyhole cover was also missing from the box. I figured maybe I left it in the box and double checked, or it fell to the floor during installation but not to the bone. The box was a little flattened and unsealed when I received it looking like they put it in a used box and shipped it at the last second. I don't know if it was on Revain or Haifuan but the thing is I never had that cap. Again, nothing fancy here, but when you're paying $120 for a fancy lock you expect all the details to be there. Other than that, this castle is definitely beautiful. As said, it's modern, stylish, feature-packed and very secure, but there are little things that stop it from being perfect. Hopefully they will solve some of these problems for future castles. Oh, and please don't forget to include all the details! EDIT: So the company sent me a free replacement cap after I contacted them. Not only that, I've managed to fix my previously mentioned "stickiness" issues. Basically the problem was that the locking screws were too tight, but I couldn't unscrew them without them sticking out too much. So I had to disassemble the door and cut a deeper square hole where the latch is. Basically, the panel should be slightly set back towards the door, not flush or protruding. After doing that and putting everything together I didn't have to over tighten the screws and now the doorknob is smooth as butter! I won't take back what I said about this thing being difficult to install, it's not a simple door lock replacement but once it works perfectly it's worth it! Now I don't have to get up to open the door for someone, I just use the remote control! So what problems with this blocking remained after this edit? Well, two that spring to mind. One is a small screw for the battery cover, I wish it was a regular Phillips head and not that weird allen wrench so I don't have to dig up that tool every time I need to change batteries. Secondly, for me, the codes must be EXACTLY 6 digits. For some reason less digits or more digits and the code is useless and I have to reset. Trust me, I've tried several codes, both longer and shorter than 6 digits, and only the ones with exactly 6 digits work! For me it is not critical, but there is something to consider. Overall I am happy with the lock and impressed with Haifuan's customer service, I would buy again!
