Review on Hyde Tools 45395 Sanding Bloc by Kevin Mariappan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

nice little block in Power & Hand Tools

I agree that paper was very difficult to put down at first. The rubber tabs were so stiff that it took a while to remove the packaging. The paper is held in place by three nails on each side, so not only can you lift the flaps a little, you have to lift them just enough for the paper to peel off the nails. I thought my first job would be impossible without four hands. However, after about a dozen uses, the rubber seems to have softened and now it's a little easier to lift the flaps and I've gotten used to the paper setting. a small block that is comfortable to work with, very low hand fatigue, especially compared to no block. Also the base is slightly flexible with little pressure; This came in handy for sharpening an old ax and probably other slightly curved tools. 1.4 sheets of paper are a perfect length (just make sure the first end is fully inserted) with a slight overhang in width.

Pros
  • All purpose wet or dry sanding block
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
