Watch your fingers!

What an incredible deal this little slicer is. Comes with 2 blades, straight and wavy. I use it every day and sometimes twice a day or more and it saves me a lot of time in the kitchen every day. I use it primarily for slicing potatoes to make fat-free microwavable chips on my spoiled chef's fries trays for my husband's lunchtime snacks. Washes off quickly and easily. It includes a hand guard that floats over the raised edges to prevent damage to the blades or guard and that holds food EXTREMELY securely on metal pins in the hood, which has a button at the top to push food down when removing. to the end of the piece you are cutting. In addition, it has a wheel in the center which, when rotated, are blades for cutting julienne in wide and narrow widths. We don't use that much as it still seems a little intimidating, but we can do more with it over time. What drew me to this particular slicer was the price and the lack of a "set" width. Select. I looked at models four to five times the price, but only had three shots. It's sliced thin enough to make crispy, tasty fries and thick enough for fried potatoes. Also, some of the others didn't have handguards or julienne blades. Overall, this little slicer WAY exceeded expectations. I would buy it again and I would buy it as a gift for a friend. Although I thought the instructions could have been more detailed, upon closer inspection they really speak for themselves. The knobs slide out the sides for easy turning, for example to make adjustments. If you take the time to get to know your new slicer, you're sure to get the hang of it.**12-4-12. We use it every day to cut potatoes. PLEASE use security! I don't know what my husband was thinking, I'm so thankful we use him daily for VERY THIN potato chips because he just cut off a thin slice of a nail and fingertip. But the nail will have a wavy pattern to match the blade as it grows out of the root over the course of a few weeks.
