Granted, I am using "metric" pipes, but the 22mm pipe I am cutting fits with 3/4" nominal pipe (7/8" OD) pipe in all other regards. You should think that for something like a pipe cutter, it would not matter with a pipe that is 1% smaller than a 7/8" OD. And is says the MAXIMUM size for cutting is 3/4" nominal. So 22mm pipe is just 1% under that size.It IS possible to cut a pipe with the HAUTMEC, some times, but most times I tried it, I had to finish with my regular pipe cutter. Yes, I am aware of the direction it needs to be turned. It just doesn't cut it.I only got this HAUTMEC cutter for the odd chance I need to cut a pipe where my regular pipe cutter doesn't fit. I don't want to go through the trouble of returning it, but it will end up in the museum of forgotten tools .
