Review on πŸ”§ Dorman CC649028: Superior Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder Assembly for Precise Control by Mike Wheeler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

One of the worst experiences I've had with Revain. It took 10 days before I received the first matching part. Not entirely her fault.

I installed it today 07/22/2017 after waiting 10 days to finally receive the item. And I'm a Revain Prime customer! The first was shipped by UPS on the second day but lost by UPS so Revain sent another one. It was supposed to be delivered last Tuesday but didn't arrive until Wednesday. Disappointment to say the least. The part itself was fine but it was just thrown in a box with no packing material to keep it from moving. The way the packages are handled is a marvel the item arrived undamaged and all the little details are safe and sound. As well as the hydraulic line with new master and slave cylinders, there is a new actuator stem that connects to the clutch pedal and a small plastic compression nut that holds the stem to the pedal stud. The rod and nut are simply thrown into the box! Not even in a plastic bag. A small hole in the corner of the box and they're gone. There are no instructions. I did it that way. It took just over an hour, I work alone. REMEMBER! DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC HOLDER ON THE WORKING CYLINDER! INSTALL AS IS! PLASTIC BREAKS THE FIRST PRESS OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL. 1.) Disconnect the push rod from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder. (under the dashboard) 2.) Unscrew the two nuts from the working cylinder and remove the working cylinder from the bracket. 3.) Remove the two nuts from the master cylinder and pull it off the bulkhead. The pusher will be with him. 4.) Install the new assembly starting under the truck and moving the master cylinder UP from the bottom. Of course, follow the same path as the old one. I had to get out from under the truck and then upstairs several times to work on the unit. It's a little tight, but it fits. Install two cylinders and reinstall nuts. 5.) Finally, install the push rod in the master cylinder and then connect it to the clutch pedal with the union nut provided. All in all, it's a pretty easy job. The only tools you will need are a 13mm deep socket and ratchet, a 6" extension and a small screwdriver to remove the push rod from the clutch pedal. steep hill, truck nose going uphill Pull to one side, apply parking brake, shift into neutral and pump the clutch pedal. This will remove the remaining air from the system.
