So I was a big hater of anything wireless. I would put gigabit switches throughout the house and use Cat5e or Cat6 cabling. I had multiple devices such as media players, gaming consoles, laptops, tablets, smartphones, you name it. When we moved to a new location it wasn't possible/realistic to use cables so I switched. Most devices were already connected to Wi-Fi at this point, like my game console, laptop, etc. The only thing I kept connected was my file server/virtualization machine. But when the server is next to the router, it's in the living room, which I just wanted to get rid of. So I bought this WLAN adapter and lo and behold, I get full speed on 5 GHz. Even after moving it to the basement, I can still get close to top speed and have very good reception. I'm surprised how well this works. I don't notice any high CPU usage or interrupt stalls, response times are very good, and file transfers are overall fast and stable. So no complaints. The only downside is that you need a CD/DVD to download or get the drivers online. Chipset Realtek 8812BU if you want to get drivers from somewhere else. All in all a very good product!
