too much money for inconsistent diameter and quality

seems like a good buy for my new printer, but after setting up the printer the print quality keeps getting worse. It turns out that the thread has too uneven a diameter. pops a little, which also indicates moisture in the thread. and after a few days in nice and dry Colorado I wouldn't do it. If the problem was just moisture it wouldn't be so bad that you could just dry it out, but you can't fix poor quality control and poor manufacturing. Be sure to get it when it's on sale, or for extras and spares for a rainy day. but don't count on it for any good. When it's right it prints fine, but the different dots on the roll are wildly different diameters. varies from catastrophic under-extrusion to gross over-extrusion, and the only variable that can cause this, even within the same pressure line, is the rapid change in diameter. It's just really frustrating to see a print start out perfect and then randomly go from perfect to junk to perfect throughout the print. The bust of Deadpool shows this: some layers were fine for nearly half an inch, then suddenly became garbage through extrusion. The Enki model shows one of my earlier prints in this thread and gave me hope, but it only got worse as the scroll progressed. There are other filaments at this price that have a much better and proven track record.

Pros
  • 3D printer filament (diameter 1.75 mm, dark grey; spool 1 kg); designed for most popular 3D printers (check spool size for compatibility)
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
