My 1997 Mainship 34 MY had a leaking shaft seal, Marine Power 454s 1.75 inch shafts. I replaced it with this one in water and found it very easy with the tool you buy here that looks like a corkscrew. The only other tools you will need are a razor blade and a 3/4 inch wrench. I inserted 3 rings at different angles and fixed the current entering my boat. It is enough for at least 2 waves or even twice as many.
