I love using these socks. They catch lots of the tiny debris that would normally reach my large canister filters. Since using these socks and my Hayward Tiger Shark pool cleaner, I only clean my 4 cartridges from the main filter once a year. When I pulled them out this year to clean, my son said they looked like they didn't need much cleaning (which was nice). You can clean and re-use the sock several times. I have used mine as long as 3 weeks with 5-6 cleanings. After a while they will start to fray and get small holes. If I get a lot of small debris or see spiders and bugs, I just toss them and put a new one on.
