Review on Dorman 911-321 Charcoal Canister for Nissan Models with Evaporative Emissions by Craig Galante

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fits Nissan Frontier 2012 but doesn't look like the original

The old evaporator canister was difficult to remove. I removed the rider's rear wheel for easier access. The new one looks the same as the old one at first glance, but when you try to reconnect the surge sensor/electrical connection (the connector that doesn't match the valve) the connection fails. All hoses fit perfectly. The new valve worked fine. When I attempted to insert the sensor/electrical connector, the connector would not go all the way in or latch. The new evaporation tank has a slightly different lip and depth where the sensor/electrical connector is inserted. The plug will not go all the way in no matter how hard you push it or how you move it. I thought replacing this part would cause the check engine light to go out, but now a bad electrical connection has caused the check engine light to come on.

Pros
  • Useful beyond its original purpose
Cons
  • Protection
