Great boards for the price, I was looking for a smaller alternative to my 30x24 solid polyester cutting board which is too big for most culinary purposes . make. After checking a few stores and reading reviews online, I decided that they wouldn't be bad for the price, although they wouldn't last as long as most people claimed. But after learning how to properly care for them, I see that these boards will last a long time. Like other wood products (although bamboo is a grass) you need to seal and care for it to make it last. I use one or two of these about once a day, so I seal mine every two to three weeks, alternating with beeswax and mineral oil. Other keys to preventing them from cracking are to hand wash and dry the board right away, bamboo can absorb and release moisture just as quickly, so it will warp or crack if left to its own devices. If you want to avoid the hassle of maintenance, polyethylene sheets make a great replacement and will never break. But if you like the looks and don't mind a little extra work to keep them pristine, then this is a great buy.
