3-Piece Assorted Sizes Bamboo Cutting Board Set by Totally Bamboo Review

I got this set a few hours ago so I quickly washed, hand dried and started using the largest board. After cutting about 2 pounds of Brussels sprouts into quarters, I noticed splinters all over the board. Very disappointed with the quality of this product.

I rarely write reviews but these cutting boards have disappointed me. I've owned the edge for 6 months now and to date the last one has broken in half. I bought them because they were on the bestseller list and I just don't understand why, because they warped, broke and just didn't last long.

Received a few months ago. The large one has a huge gap in the middle like some of the other customer photos. It also never came with instructions on how to use the oil and cracked in my food for a month before I discovered it myself. Also, they are tiny. And now I can't go back because it's over the window, but it's still junk after just a few months. Terrible product, get something else.

I wanted to replace my plastic planks with bamboo without wasting my arms and legs. They are thinner than wood so they fit perfectly in the hanger above the closet that I have. They do slide a bit, but the wet paper towel idea seems wasteful and damaging to a board that sits afloat like that, but a rubber can opener or two or some leftover non-slip shelf liners work great. Was thinking of small feet but I like the idea of taking full advantage of both sides of the board.

So far so good. Was looking for a 'greener' product and it seemed to fit the bill and was very reasonably priced. The largest of these is medium, but they all work well for most needs. What I liked the most was that the glue they use is non-toxic. Couldn't find this information for most other boards in this price range. I was a little hesitant because it's bamboo and I'm stuck in the small world of bamboo and I was pleasantly surprised by this item. I used two of the three boards, one for the meat, one for the veggies and I'm planning on a third for the cheese. I was a little disappointed when I read that they offered a special oil to treat boards but didn't provide any information on how to get this oil. I decided to use olive oil wipes once a month. I bought these boards about a year and a half ago. I only have the middle one out of the three. The smallest is not suitable for many. It's too small to comfortably cut anything and I lost it a long time ago. The largest warped a lot in the first year and I ended up throwing it away when it became completely useless. When I received these boards I thought they weren't very good quality as other reviewers said there was 'bamboo hair' sticking out of the boards. I applied several coats of mineral oil and only used it to find out the 'wood hairs' were gone and now the board is smooth and I don't have to worry about those bamboo 'hairs' getting into my food . I bought a spare kit to replace a kit that worked fine (same brand). One of the new boards came with a factory defect, when sanding, a groove formed on one of the boards. Totally Bamboo's website boasted about the quality of customer service. My experience has disproved their claim. They never responded to an email I sent 3 weeks ago using the contact information on their website.
